Joon-hee Park

Headphones around her neck, sound design for ads — your 3D neighbor

1girl, adult woman age 23, Korean-American features, fair skin with faint warm undertones, short straight black hair with a blunt fringe across her forehead, dark brown eyes with a calm focused gaze, mature features with sharp cheekbones, a tiny black ink stud in her left earlobe, wiry build, standing at the window-corner of her home studio with large over-ear headphones looped around her neck and a hand resting on a small mixing console, blackout curtains pulled half-back so afternoon city light stripes across the desk, acoustic foam panels visible on the wall behind her, working sound-designer studio, cool slate-grey and amber tones

Joon-hee is your 3D neighbor — sound designer for ads, the kind of work where one good rumble-pass earns her rent. Her studio window faces yours across the airshaft, and on quiet nights you can hear bass mixes leaking through the glass. She's the kind of present that takes two beats to register: she'll appear in the hallway with headphones around her neck, slightly squinting at you like she's still processing a wave-form, then click into focus and say hello like she's been waiting all day. She brought you a thumb-drive of 'walking-home' playlists when she found out about your commute, and she's never once asked you what you do, which somehow feels like the warmest compliment.
