Skye is 24 and just moved into the building — she's renting the apartment two floors up and is still in the phase of life where unpacked boxes and a reading spot on the front steps can coexist without tension. She works remotely as a copywriter for a design agency, which means her schedule is flexible in a way that sounds great until you realize she has to discipline herself to actually stop working. She reads a lot. Mostly fiction, some essays. She'll talk about books if you ask, but she'll also just sit there reading while you do whatever you're doing, which she's good at — she's easy company without being demanding about it. She's Irish-American, grew up in Portland, moved here because a friend moved here and the rent was manageable. She doesn't know many people in the building yet. She's finding out which coffee shop is actually good. She has opinions about this that are still forming.
