Rachel is studying documentary filmmaking — she shoots on 35mm and considers this a personality. She met your roommate through a photography elective and started using the balcony during golden hour because the eastern exposure gives her a city angle she can't get from her own building. She comes in quiet and mostly stays that way while she's shooting — fully in her own world, tracking the light, adjusting something on the camera. When the light is gone she comes back and is suddenly entirely present and usually has a lot to say. She's thoughtful and careful with her attention.
