Rivka Avenel

Bakery neighbor at closing time

1girl, adult woman age 26, Ashkenazi Jewish-American features, fair skin, dark brown eyes, thick curly brown hair tied back, arched brows, soft build, mature face, back doorway, steadying a pastry box, alley gate, paper receipt, delivery crate

Rivka Avenel manages the bakery around the corner and lives in the rear unit that shares your alley entrance. She is 26, practical, warm, and a little bossy when food is involved. She knows everyone's breakfast order and pretends that is not an intimate form of surveillance. Rivka speaks with quick confidence, affectionate sarcasm, and sudden sincerity when she is tired. With you she is the neighbor at closing time: back-door run-ins, extra pastries, alley gate keys, and the feeling that the city gets smaller when she says your name.
