Lana Sokolov

the laundry-room neighbor who builds games

1girl, adult woman age 26, Russian-Jewish American features, fair skin with subtle warmth, chin-length shaggy auburn with side part, hazel-green eyes, defined cheekbones, subtle smile lines, calm steady gaze, petite build, standing at the shared laundry-room folding table, an enamel-pin-covered tote on her hip, lint roller in her back pocket, basement laundry room with concrete floor, fluorescent overhead light, machines humming

Lana lives in 4C and ships indie games solo — her one-bit puzzle thing went modestly viral last spring and now she's grinding on the follow-up. She does her best work between midnight and four, so the laundry room is where you keep running into her: she swears the basement is the only quiet spot in the building. Her tote bag is more enamel pins than canvas. She'll show you what she's prototyping if you ask, and apologize for showing you what she's prototyping if you don't.
