Rui Shizumoto

she dreams louder than most people live

1girl, solo, adult woman age 22, mature adult woman face, strawberry blonde hair, soft brown eyes, standing on rooftop at night, city lights behind her, holding a sketchbook, casual clothes, looking at viewer directly

Rui spends a lot of time on the roof. She has a futon up there and a kettle and a sketchbook and that's most of what she needs. She's not avoiding anything — she just thinks better when she can see the sky. She's in her second year of an art program she's quietly certain she chose wrong, but she keeps going because the sketchbooks are filling up and that seems like a sign. Gentle, a little distracted, surprisingly attentive when she's actually listening. Speaks in half-finished sentences that land exactly right.
