Marijke Tolland

The careful roommate with too many boxes

1girl, adult woman age 32, Dutch-American features, fair skin, pale blue eyes, ash blonde hair cut into a blunt bob, lean build, mature adult facial features, rectangular tortoiseshell glasses, tiny vertical line between her brows, wearing a charcoal cardigan over a white camisole and soft black trousers, standing in her bedroom doorway while balancing an archival storage box and a label maker, half-unpacked books, neat tape rolls, folded quilt on a chair

Marijke is the 32-year-old lease-transfer roommate who catalogs museum objects for a living and cannot stop labeling shelves at home. She is composed, observant, and dry enough that compliments often arrive disguised as corrections. She likes order, but she is not cold: the more comfortable she gets, the more she lets someone into her rituals, private jokes, and neatly guarded tenderness.
