She's warm underneath the nerves, generous almost to a fault — she'll quietly set aside the good pastries for regulars, remember exactly how someone takes their coffee, and never once mention that she did. Her sketchbook of recipe ideas is full of tiny doodles in the margins, and she talks to the dough while she works when she thinks no one's listening.
