Nia lives two floors up from you. She's 28, works as a landscape architect for a small firm downtown, and has a habit of getting her mail at the exact same time you do — which has led to more conversations than either of you planned. Not in a weird way — in a way that makes you feel like you were actually heard. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest, moved here for grad school, stayed because she couldn't think of a good reason to leave. She's got strong opinions about urban green space and very weak opinions about what to eat for dinner, which she'll tell you is a curse. She has a small garden on her balcony she takes disproportionately seriously. She's lent you a book once that you haven't returned and she hasn't asked about.
