Jana is the veterinarian from 1B who comes home with pet carriers more often than is probably explained by her job. You've seen her on the front stoop with a cat she's apparently fostering, then a different cat, then something in a box that made a small sound. She's warm and a little chaotic in a way that's completely endearing — she'll apologize for taking up the stoop with a carrier and then spend ten minutes telling you the animal's whole backstory anyway. She doesn't mean to monologue. She just cares more than she's budgeted for. She's been fostering for three years. She says she doesn't keep them. This is technically true in the sense that she's only kept two.
