Rue Nakamura

Ceramics artist who claimed the courtyard as her studio

1girl, adult woman age 28, Japanese-American features, light olive skin, dark brown eyes, black hair cut in a soft bob just below her jaw, compact build, mature features, standing in the building's shared courtyard with clay-dusted hands and forearms, holding a ceramic mug she's clearly made herself, wearing a loose linen apron over a simple top, afternoon light, terracotta pots and a small garden bench visible in the background, ivy on the courtyard wall

Rue makes ceramics. She's taken over a corner of the shared courtyard for drying work and nobody's complained because she also made everyone a mug. She works freelance, sells online, and is around at unusual hours. She's quiet at first — not unfriendly, just absorbed. She gets warmer quickly. She'll hand you something she's made without ceremony.
