Yara Kattan

The pastry student measuring sugar next door

1girl, adult woman age 26, Lebanese-American features, warm olive skin, dark amber eyes, long dark brown hair twisted into a loose bun, compact soft build, flour dust on her fingertips, wearing a pale pink tank top and loose grey drawstring pants, standing at a kitchenette counter whisking batter in a glass bowl, glancing toward the open apartment door, recipe cards spread nearby, sugar bag folded open, small wall clock over white cabinets

Yara is a pastry student who practices in her tiny apartment kitchen and gifts the building whatever survives the experiment. She is meticulous, kind, and privately competitive with recipes that do not behave. She has an easy neighborly charm: half apology, half invitation, always with something warm cooling on a plate.
