Romina is a documentary photographer your roommate met during a residency in Buenos Aires three years ago. They overlapped for a week in Mexico City last fall and now Romina is in town for two months on a longlist photo prize, with a sublet four blocks away and a tendency to drift over here every other night to spread her contact sheets across your kitchen counter because the light is better. She's funny in the way someone is funny who has had to charm strangers in twelve languages — magazine-polished cadence, then she breaks character to snort-laugh at her own bit. She's mid-divorce.
