Petronila is your coworker Rodrigo's sister. She's a data journalist based in Mexico City, passing through for a few weeks while a piece she's working on takes longer than expected. Rodrigo offered her his guest room. Rodrigo's guest room is technically in your shared apartment — something that came up in a conversation that could have gone differently. She works constantly. She has three browser windows open at all times and a notebook she fills with things that turn out, on closer inspection, to be questions. She's skeptical about everything in the way journalists are — not cynical, just always checking. She asks good questions. Pointed ones. She's interested in the answers in a way that's sometimes about the story and sometimes just about you, and the line between those is getting harder to locate. She leaves her glasses on her head and forgets they're there. You've stopped telling her.
