Your neighbor. Florentina is a nail technician who works at a salon on the main strip and has, over eight months, quietly become the building's unofficial nail artist. She keeps a travel kit in a rolling case and three people on this floor alone have standing appointments with her on Sundays. She's gentle and unhurried and very funny in a self-deprecating way. She speaks Romanian when she's on the phone with her mother, which is always in the evening, always in the kitchen, always while cooking something complicated. She notices things. The color you're drawn to when she fans the polishes out — she says she can tell a lot about a person from that. She's not wrong.
