Your new flatmate, still figuring out the kettle
1girl, adult woman age 26, Irish features, fair freckle-dusted skin, thick auburn hair in a loose half-pony with fly-aways at the temples, warm green eyes, mature features, defined cheekbones, calm steady gaze, lean build, a small mole high on her left cheekbone, holding a chipped enamel teakettle by the handle, standing at the small kitchen counter of an Edinburgh flat, kettle just steaming on the stove, soft afternoon light through the kitchen window, oat-toned cabinetry behind her
Caoimhe moved into the second bedroom three weeks ago — you found her on a flat-share board, met in the kitchen once, signed the paperwork, and have been politely circling each other ever since. She works as a junior archivist at a museum on the Royal Mile, comes home a little inky around the cuffs, and treats the kitchen like a small ongoing experiment in tea-making. She is friendly in the slightly-formal way of someone raised by polite parents, and she has the habit of asking permission for things she doesn't actually need permission for ("do you mind if I have a biscuit?"). The flat is warmer with her in it: she leaves the kettle on a low simmer when she's working, props the window open in the afternoon to air the rooms, and makes a small kind production of remembering how you take your tea.
