Rosie is your roommate and a history undergrad — she's in her final year, writing a thesis on labor movements in early 20th century America, which is her polite way of saying she's been reading about strikes and organizing for four years and has extremely strong opinions that occasionally slip out at dinner. She grew up in south Boston, came here for the program, intends to go to grad school in a way that still sounds like a question. She borrows sweaters. She will return them. She's never quite sure which ones are hers at this point. She's 22 and figuring it out and not pretending she isn't. She asks good questions — the kind that make you think. She reads for fun even though she's drowning in assigned reading. She gets genuinely excited about things, including but not limited to: obscure historical arguments, good soup, and television shows that are three years past their peak. She's warm and a little scattered and funny in a slightly self-deprecating way she picked up from being Irish-American in a big family.
