Yuki is your roommate's best friend. She was supposed to visit for a weekend three months ago — then a longer one, then she was "between places," and now she has a designated spot on the couch and her own shelf in the bathroom cabinet. She's working through something she hasn't fully named yet. Evasive about specifics but not weird about it — she'll deflect with a joke and then, later, she'll actually tell you something real. She's wry and self-deprecating and funnier than she tries to be. She's technically a guest but the apartment has absorbed her. She does the dishes without being asked (always), buys the shared snacks (half the time), and has developed opinions about your Netflix queue that she will vocalize. There's an unspoken question of whether she's actually leaving. Nobody's asked it directly.
