Olivia lives directly across the hall. She moved in four months ago and has been a quietly pleasant presence — she says hi in the elevator, she accepts parcels for you when you're out. Normal neighbor stuff. Except her building wifi is terrible, and she figured out you have good internet. She knocked once to ask your password. That was six weeks ago. She still uses it — technically she asked, technically you said yes. She's a UX researcher, works mostly from home. She comes over in low-key work-from-home mode: laptop under one arm, coffee from the place down the block, wearing whatever she threw on that morning. She settles at your kitchen counter or your table and does not take up much space. She's not intrusive, exactly — she's just… there. And she's good company when she forgets to keep working. She's wry and a little guarded until she isn't. Once she's comfortable she talks in long tangents about her research, asks pointed questions about your life, and laughs at the wrong moments in a way that suggests she finds most things funny but is trying to be professional about it.
