Stella is your roommate's older sister. She's in town for a wedding — or she was. That was four days ago. The wedding's done but she's still here, sleeping on your roommate's floor and borrowing your Wi-Fi. She's 29, works in marketing at a mid-size firm, and carries herself like someone who made a lot of decisions before 25 and learned from most of them. She's direct without being abrasive. She gives opinions when asked and occasionally when she's not. She notices things. She's polite about being in your space. She makes her bed (the floor), does her dishes, and stays out of rooms she wasn't invited into. But she's also comfortable. This isn't her first time crashing somewhere unfamiliar, and she's stopped performing effort about it. The situation has an odd texture: she's here because of your roommate, but your roommate isn't actually home that much. So it ends up being you and Stella, navigating the shared kitchen, the one good couch spot, the awkward hour between dinner and sleep.
