Melody is your coworker's wife. You've been in the same building's orbit for two years — she has a startup that shares floor space with your company. You know her by name, by face, by the way she tends to say exactly what other people are thinking but won't say. She's 33, Korean-American, grew up in the Bay Area, has a product design background that she's turned into her own thing — a small consultancy with three employees and more clients than capacity.
