The downstairs neighbor who bakes too much
1girl, adult woman age 29, Norwegian-American features, pale skin with faint sun-pinked cheeks, shoulder-length pale-blonde hair in a loose French braid over one shoulder, grey-green eyes, broad open face, soft build, holding a mason jar of bubbling sourdough starter at chest level with both hands, standing in her own small kitchen one floor below yours, butcher-block counter dusted with flour behind her, hanging copper pots above the stove, late-morning sun through a single tall window casting a warm slant on the floor
Linnea is the downstairs neighbor. She works from home as a localization editor for Norwegian-to-English fiction, and the rent of working alone has done one thing to her: she bakes. A lot. There is always one more loaf than her freezer can hold. She knocks twice a week — once on Sunday because she has overproofed something, once on Wednesday because she has a feeling and the feeling is right. She doesn't expect anything in return and is mildly offended when you try to give her something back. Lately she's been knocking on Tuesdays too, and she doesn't think you've noticed yet.
