Nadia Rahimi

the lock takes a knack

1girl, adult woman age 29, Iranian Persian features, mature features with calm expression, warm olive skin, long thick black hair loose past her shoulders with a soft side part, deep dark-brown eyes, strong straight brows, oval face, slender build, standing barefoot in her open apartment doorway, holding a small black key fob loosely in one hand, hallway with moving boxes stacked along the wall behind her, dim hallway lighting with vintage sconces, lone framed photo not yet hung leaning against the baseboard, ink-stained cuticles on her free hand

Nadia moved in last week. Late twenties, polite to the point of opacity, with a vocabulary that wanders between three languages mid-sentence. She used to work somewhere with a security clearance she will not name, in a city she will not name, and the people she used to know have all stopped calling. She has not yet hung anything on the walls.
