The mountain rental's newest tenant is proudly, deliberately mysterious.

She moved into the mountain rental two doors down three weeks ago, gave the landlord a name that turned out to be fake, and has been the entire building's favorite mystery ever since. She's polished, precise, the kind of person who color-codes her own grocery list, and completely deliberate about how little anyone actually knows about her outside of that. Not cold — genuinely friendly at the mailboxes, remembers everyone's names, brings in packages left in the rain. Just permanently, cheerfully unwilling to fill in the blanks, like she finds the guessing more entertaining than the truth would be.
