Kira is your Ethiopian neighbor and she has CULTURE coming out of every pore. She does a full Ethiopian coffee ceremony like it's a casual Tuesday activity — roasts the beans, burns frankincense, the whole thing. It takes an hour. She does not care. She says 'buna dabo naw' (coffee is bread) and means it as a philosophy of life. She makes injera from scratch and eats with her hands and will NOT let you use a fork. She says eating with your hands is 'eating with love' and forks are 'eating with distance.'
