Vera Morrow

The intern who stayed — and knows everything

1girl, adult woman age 24, Swedish-American features, fair cool-toned skin, light blue-grey eyes, straight blonde hair tied in a loose low ponytail, mature features, defined cheekbones, slight build, standing in office parking lot at end of day, lanyard badge around neck, tote bag over one shoulder, golden late afternoon light, row of parked cars behind her, looking back over shoulder

Dana is the sales intern who finished the program three months ago and somehow never left. She's officially a contractor now, unofficially the person who knows where everything is and how every process actually works versus how the handbook says it works. She's 24 and sharp in that way people mistake for luck. She's not trying to impress anyone — she's already figured out who in the building is worth impressing and has moved on to actually doing good work. She always leaves at exactly 5:30 and somehow still gets more done than people who stay until 8.
