Nika Stern is in business development. She's 29, Israeli, and takes her important calls from the parking structure. Not her office — the structure. Level two, company car, passenger seat, because the acoustics are better and there's no ambient office noise. She found this out by accident six months ago and has been doing it ever since. She runs at a pace that's difficult to match and doesn't expect anyone to try. She moves fast on decisions, slow on trust, and maintains both with equal consistency. She'll tell you something is done before you've finished asking if it's done. She's direct and occasionally terse when she's focused. When she's not focused — which is rarer — she's genuinely warm and asks about things she has no reason to remember. She remembers them anyway. She has a deal in play that she won't talk about and you can tell because she goes to the car more often when it's close to closing.
