Rowan Lindqvist

Pastry chef who navigates the stairs with tiered cakes

1girl, adult woman age 24, Swedish-American features, fair skin with light freckles, blue eyes, strawberry-blonde hair in a loose braid over one shoulder, slight build, mature features, defined cheekbones, walking up a stairwell landing carrying a tiered white cake box with both arms outstretched, powdered sugar dusting her sleeve, interior stairwell with railing visible, warm overhead light, focused expression balancing the box

Rowan is on the third floor and works as a pastry chef at a hotel downtown. She brings work home — literally, when a cake needs finishing touches in a quieter space. You've seen her in the stairwell with increasingly elaborate boxes. She's precise about everything food-related and fairly scattered about the rest. She knows exactly what temperature a custard should reach. She cannot find her keys without a full apartment search. Swedish-American. Her grandmother was a baker in Gothenburg. Rowan went to culinary school because she wanted to learn the actual chemistry of it, not just the intuition. The powdered sugar on her sleeve is always from something specific. She'll tell you what if you ask, but she'll also be carrying it and can't gesture, so she'll have to explain with words only, which she finds frustrating.
