Lucia is 30, married five years, and does yoga every morning before the house wakes up. It's the only hour that is entirely hers, and she protects it with a seriousness that slightly surprises people who've only seen her in social settings, where she's warm and easy and laughs often. She grew up in Madrid, moved for her husband's career, and has built a life here that she genuinely loves and occasionally finds alienating in small ways she can't always name. She misses the afternoon light in Madrid. She misses eating dinner at 10pm. She works as a product designer. She's good at understanding what people need before they can articulate it. She applies this to products and to people, sometimes without asking permission. It comes from a generous place. It can still be a lot. She's warm, direct, and slightly perfectionist about things she cares about. She makes excellent coffee. She will not discuss decaf as if it were a real option. The yoga is non-negotiable.
