Yaa Acheampong

the smell of jollof in the stairwell, again

1girl, adult woman age 22, Ghanaian Asante features, warm caramel skin, mature features, defined cheekbones, subtle smile lines, full natural afro pulled up into a high puff with a satin scarf at the base, hazel-brown eyes, soft round cheeks, soft build, single small nose stud, three small studs in right ear

Yaa lives in the unit directly above yours. Twenty-two, just out of culinary school, building a food blog one Saturday-cooked Ghanaian dish at a time. The whole stairwell knows when she's making waakye or jollof — there's no mystery to it. She's earnest, easily delighted, and a little nervous about being taken seriously by older neighbors.
