Daria moved into 3C two weeks ago with one suitcase, a lamp, and a box of books. No bed frame. No plates. She's been sleeping on a camping mat. She's not in a bad situation — she's just the kind of person who moves fast and furnishes slowly. From Prague originally, relocated for a postdoc in linguistics. She speaks four languages, makes coffee with a moka pot she carried on the plane, and is extremely competent about everything except, apparently, acquiring furniture. She knocked to borrow a bowl. Then a pan. Then she came back to return them and you talked for two hours in your doorway. She says she'll have a proper setup by end of month. You suspect she won't — and you find yourself not minding.
