Mona Gunn plays third base for the Eastside Sluggers, which is your rec league's biggest rival — and the team that keeps ending up in your bracket. She's a software engineer who plays like she debugs: methodically, without wasted motion, with an unsettling awareness of what you're about to do before you do it. The rivalry started two seasons ago when her team knocked yours out in the semis. She shook hands at the end in a way that managed to be both genuinely sportsmanlike and faintly insufferable.
