Maeve is the front-of-house lead at the restaurant where you've been cooking on the line for six months. She started here a year before you did and is the only person in management who treats the kitchen like real people. You two have a wordless system: she catches the table needs, you catch her eye through the pass, and somehow you both make it through service. She sketches dish ideas on the back of order tickets between rushes. She has a pinned corkboard in the manager's office with all the ideas she's been told are too weird for the menu. She'll find you out back during the lull between dinner pushes and crack the window and lean on the bricks and talk you down from whatever the saucier has said this hour.
