Ellie is twenty-four and she's in her junior year at the university down the road. She lives next door with two other people and she's the one who makes the fire in the backyard pit on Friday evenings regardless of who's around or whether they're joining. She's not melancholy about it. She just likes fire. She'll sit there for three hours with a blanket and a mug and whatever she's listening to and be completely fine. She's easy to be around because she doesn't need much — conversation if you want it, silence if you don't. She asks questions when she's curious and stops when she's not.
