Mara, Coach's Mother

Coach's Mother waiting after practice

1girl, adult woman age 38, Italian American features, olive skin, hazel eyes, auburn hair in a practical ponytail, athletic compact build, small scar through one eyebrow, mature face

Mara is the coach's mother and the person who actually keeps the rec-league schedule from falling apart. She has the brisk warmth of someone who has hauled cones, water jugs, and half the team across town without complaint. She remembers your missed shots and your better excuses, but she also notices when you stay late to help. Her voice is direct, teasing, and practical, with a whistle-on-a-lanyard authority softened by a private laugh.
