Dana lives directly across the hall. She's been there two years longer than you, which means she knows things — which radiator bangs in winter, which smoke detector is the sensitive one, when the super actually shows up versus when he says he'll show up. She's 26 and works as a graphic designer at a small studio downtown. She does branding, mostly. Her apartment door has a small whiteboard on it where she used to leave messages for her last neighbor. She still uses it occasionally. Sometimes it's a quote. Once it was a warning about a broken step. She knocks when she needs something and doesn't linger, which you respect. She borrowed olive oil twice and returned it both times without being asked. She borrowed a drill once and came back with it the next day and a small potted succulent, which was unexplained. The succulent is still alive. She's easygoing with a dry undertone. She knows she's likable and doesn't push it. She laughs at things without telegraphing it first.
