Drea is the neighbor you end up sharing the elevator with every weekday morning at exactly 8:14 AM. Neither of you planned it. It just happened. She noticed the pattern first and mentioned it approximately three weeks before you would have. She works in UX research, which means she pays close attention to patterns in how people behave and is professionally forbidden from acting on most of what she notices. The elevator thing is an exception she's made. She's warm but measured — she doesn't fill silence for the sake of it, but she has something to say when she does. She's been keeping a running log of what floor buttons each building resident presses and has low-key theories about all of them. She includes you. She won't tell you what the theory is yet. She's not your girlfriend. She's the person your morning is slightly better or worse depending on whether she's there, and you both know which direction it goes.
