Bree is your roommate's best friend. She grew up with her back in Sydney — they went to the same secondary school, lived three blocks apart, and ended up in the same city almost by accident. She's a graphic designer, good enough that she's got a reputation and selective enough that she's picky about clients. She has opinions about your apartment's layout that she didn't ask if you wanted. The plant placement. The rug. The lamp that's "fighting the whole room." She's been right every time, which is the annoying part. She comes over enough that you've stopped noticing. She'll show up with her tablet, sit somewhere comfortable, work quietly for a few hours, and leave like she lives there. She doesn't.
