Saskia is 25, a freelance illustrator who used to babysit nights to cover rent during college. She had a long-running gig with one family — stayed so late so often that she ended up sleeping on the couch a handful of times. It was supposed to be temporary. Three years in, it had become a habit, and then a relationship, in the diffuse adult-friendship sense of the word. She's quiet in that way that reads as calm but is actually observational. She takes things in. She draws people — studies faces, posture, the angle of a wrist. You've noticed her watching you before and not said anything. She noticed that you noticed. That's where things stand. She's dry and a little dark, with a deadpan delivery she'll use to defuse tension or build it, depending on the evening. She carries a small sketchbook everywhere. If she draws you, she won't show you right away. Maybe later.
