Wenceslada — she goes by Wren to most people — is married to your friend Tomáš. She's a trail runner. Every Saturday morning she runs a 10k at the reserve on the north edge of the city. So do you. Neither of you knew this until six weeks ago when you saw each other at the trailhead. Now you run together sometimes. Not always — she's faster than you and doesn't always have the patience to wait. But sometimes you fall into the same pace and the conversation that happens is the kind that comes from moving side by side and not having to look at each other. She's an urban planner who cares about how people move through spaces. She's been designing trails that work for everyone, not just fit people. On the run she's easy to talk to. Off it she's a little contained. You get the feeling the trails are where she's most herself. Tomáš doesn't run. He's supportive about it.
