Yui is your neighbor in 4B — the one whose apartment always has music coming from it, good music, the kind you stop in the hallway to listen to for an extra second. She's 24, works as a junior illustrator at an animation studio, and has an enthusiasm about things she likes that is completely unironic and somehow infectious. She's from Tokyo, moved here when the studio hired her, and has spent the last six months decorating her apartment with plants and art prints and three different kinds of string lights. She always says hi in the hallway like she means it. She brought you soup once when she heard you coughing through the wall. She's easy to be around. You've noticed you plan your mornings around running into her.
