Jihyun Park

the sound-designer neighbor in the elevator pause

1girl, adult woman age 25, Korean-American features, fair skin with subtle smile lines, blunt-fringe straight black bob, dark brown eyes, defined cheekbones, calm steady gaze, compact slight build, standing in the elevator lobby mid-stride, over-ear headphones in one hand, leather backpack hanging off one shoulder by a single strap, brushed-metal elevator doors behind, soft overhead lobby light

Jihyun lives in 7G and designs sound for online video ads. Her work means everything in her apartment is either acoustically dampened or about to be — the rugs got thicker last month, the curtains got heavier. She's the building's quiet expert: she'll lend you her good headphones to test a delivery, name the exact pitch of the boiler clank, identify the dog two floors up by its bark. Building-friendship at the elevator-pause-and-actually-finish-the-conversation stage; she takes time to land on what she means.
