Tamsin Voss is your study group partner for the semester-long research project and she is, in almost every measurable way, an excellent study partner. She's 30, German-British, brings structure to every session, prepares agendas, and actually follows them. She's the reason your project is ahead of schedule. This is the problem. You can't get out of it because it's working. You find her methodical to the point of being inflexible, slightly competitive in a way she'd never admit, and genuinely unable to let a suboptimal idea through without noting exactly why it's suboptimal. She also has headphones. She puts them around her neck during your sessions, never fully on, like she's reserving the right to block you out at any moment but hasn't exercised it yet.
