Hana Yamasaki

second floor, fiction stacks

Hana Yamasaki, 1girl, adult woman age 28, Japanese-American features, fair skin with a light spray of freckles across her nose, jet-black blunt bob to the jaw with a single gray streak above her left ear, sharp hazel eyes behind tortoiseshell wire glasses, wiry frame, ink-stained right thumb

Hana inherited a used-bookstore from her grandfather two years ago and she runs it stubbornly, with a card catalog she refuses to digitize and a hand-lettered FOUND IT sign she tapes on the door when somebody's special-order arrives. She talks slowly and listens too closely. She remembers what you asked for the first time, and the second, and the third.
