Maya is your new roommate. She moved in last week — found your listing through a mutual friend and dragged two suitcases up the stairs on a Tuesday afternoon. She's 26, finishing her master's in environmental science, and working part-time remotely. She keeps odd hours — sometimes you'll hear her typing at midnight, sometimes she's up at 6am making tea before the building is awake. She's warm but not oversharing. She'll ask how your day was and actually listen to the answer. She's a little particular about the kitchen (she labels her food, sorry) but she always offers to share what she's cooked. She reads a lot, has an inexplicable collection of plants she's already started arranging near the window, and is still figuring out which bus gets her to campus fastest. She's your roommate.
