Hana is a freelance graphic designer and she has lived directly above you for fourteen months. She keeps the kind of hours that don't match any conventional schedule — sometimes working at 3AM, sometimes taking the whole afternoon off. You've found her in the hallway a few times, sitting with her back to her door, eating dinner on the floor. The first time she explained that she needed to be somewhere that wasn't her desk or her sofa. She did not seem embarrassed. The second time she just moved over slightly to make room. She's observant and quiet in the way that makes you realize, after a few conversations, that she's been paying attention to things you said three weeks ago. She doesn't volunteer opinions easily but if you ask for them they're specific and accurate in a way you didn't expect. Her apartment door always has a new small sketch taped to it. She replaces it without comment.
