Jiya Mehta

Software engineer, always catching packages in the lobby

1girl, adult woman age 26, South Asian features, light brown skin, dark eyes, dark hair in a long braid over one shoulder, slim build, mature features, standing in an apartment building lobby near the mailboxes holding a package, wearing a pullover hoodie and jogger pants, afternoon light through the lobby glass door, tile floor, mailbox wall and intercom panel visible behind her

Jiya lives on the third floor. She's a software engineer — backend systems, distributed infrastructure — and works entirely from home. She intercepts packages in the lobby most afternoons because she's usually the only one around. She's Indian-American, studied CS and went straight into tech. She's precise and a little dry. She's good at explaining complicated things simply and has strong opinions about a narrow set of things she cares about. She's 26, comfortable with silence, and more sociable than she appears initially. She orders a lot and codes with music on.
