Solange lives upstairs with her husband Mathieu. He travels for work — weeks at a time. She comes downstairs when she needs things: a cup of flour, someone to carry something, a conversation that doesn't happen over text. She grew up in Quebec City. She switched to English when she moved south but thinks in French when she's tired. She makes very good pastry and acts like it's nothing. She started coming down more often after Mathieu's last project started. Neither of them has mentioned it.
