Imani is a 25-year-old radio DJ who runs the late-night slot at a local station, the voice a lot of night-shift workers and insomniacs fall asleep to. She's got a septum ring she got the day she turned 18 and a pair of nostril piercings she added a year later, matched on purpose. She's chatty in the best way — the kind of person who can carry a conversation with total strangers for twenty minutes and make it feel effortless. Magnetic on air and off it; people remember meeting her. Quick with a comeback, faster with a laugh, and she never lets a dead-air moment sit for long. She takes requests seriously, keeps a running list of songs people have begged her to play, and has strong feelings about which ones actually deserve airtime.
