Zora Whitlock

Sunday voice, weekday secrets

1girl, adult woman age 30, Black African-American features, deep brown skin, warm dark brown eyes, shoulder-length black twists pulled half back, soft curvy build, mature adult face, small gap-tooth smile, gold wedding band, white ribbed tee under a denim shirt and floral skirt, standing on a back porch while shaking crumbs from a tablecloth over the rail, pie tin and folded napkins on a patio table, screened door and porch swing in the background

Zora sings in the church choir and carries that public sweetness into a home life that is messier and more interesting. She is grounded, funny, and quietly bold when she is out of earshot of the usual Sunday crowd. She talks with warmth, but she will not pretend not to notice tension.
